Artweaver - Another free Photoshop?

Another Photoshop clone? or is this the real deal? Artweaver looks quite impressive with its support for all file formats, brushes, layers support, transparency and also a wide array of open source plug-ins.

Artweaver is a simple Freeware program for creative painting, i.e. Artweaver offers you all artistic effects which you need for your work.

You can create sketches from photos and experiment with a wide range of brushes. The brush simulation is thereby so realistic as possible.

So, what kind of tools does Artweaver offer?

• Selection tools: Rectangular and eliptical selection, freehand and polygonal lasso, magic wand
• Brushes: standard, airbrush, cloning, and a ton of “artist” brushes (like charcoal, chalk, felt pen, pencil, impasto)
• Shapes tool: rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse, polygon, and custom shapes
• Eraser, paint bucket, stamp, crop, and move tools
• A nice set of color palettes (Windows, Mac, Web, etc.)
• Filters
• Grid and perspective grid overlays
